Portuguese · Chapter 10 · Lesson 14 · Phrase session
Up, out, fed, asleep
Your whole day in ten sentences, alarm to pillow.
Why these go together
The daily routine is where reflexive verbs live. In Brazil the little pronoun goes before the verb: eu me levanto.
Eu me levanto às seis e meia.
I get up at half past six.
Tomo banho e me visto rapidamente.
I have a shower and get dressed quickly.
Tomo o café da manhã na cozinha.
I have breakfast in the kitchen.
Almoço na cantina da escola ao meio-dia.
I have lunch in the school canteen at midday.
O jantar é às oito.
Dinner is at eight.
Depois do jantar, ajudo a limpar a cozinha.
After dinner I help clean the kitchen.
Costumo me deitar às dez.
I usually go to bed at ten.
Durmo oito horas por noite.
I sleep eight hours a night.
Aos sábados, acordo mais tarde.
On Saturdays I wake up later.
Bom apetite!
Enjoy your meal!
