retire/rɪˈtaɪə/To stop working for good, usually because you have reached a certain age.
background/ˈbækɡraʊnd/The part of a picture or view that is behind the main person or thing.
garbage/ˈɡɑːbɪdʒ/Things you throw away because you do not want them. American speakers say garbage; British speakers usually say rubbish.
