is the soul in both the religious sense and the emotional one, the seat of feeling. leans towards mind and intellect, and towards ghosts. The word skews literary: it is everywhere in the old Zamenhof translations, in hymns and in poetry, and comparatively rare in ordinary conversation, where usually does the emotional work instead. It gives anima and senanima, and is not standard Esperanto at all - the word for an animal is , so do not reach for it here.
