is renown with honour attached, the kind won in battle or earned by a life's work, and it sits a register above ordinary , which is simply being known and can just as easily be notoriety. The verb glori means to praise or extol, i to make glorious, and glora is the adjective. It shows up heavily in hymns, national poetry and the older Esperanto translations, so if your prose is meant to be plain, or will usually do the job with less trumpeting.
