among other things
Word origin
A one-word calque of Latin inter alia, built from inter (among) and alie, the adverb of alia (other). Esperanto welds the two halves into a single lexicalised word, which is why it is written solid and not as inter alie.

The whole thing is the word. You can see and you can see alie inside it, and both readings are honest: is the ordinary preposition "among", and alie is the -e adverb of alia, "in another way, otherwise". But alie has no page of its own on this site, and that is not an oversight - it is the point. What learners actually meet in running Esperanto is the welded whole, , in exactly the slot English uses "among other things". The parts are transparent; the meaning is fixed by convention rather than assembled fresh each time, so the lexicalised whole is the lemma and the page.
It behaves like a comment, not like a argument. drops into a sentence between commas, or leans directly on the phrase it qualifies: koston - he mentioned, among other things, the cost. It is signalling that your list is not exhaustive, which is a politer and more precise move than it looks: it tells the reader there is more, without pretending to give it.
The connector family. Aliflanke (on the other hand) is built the same way, from the same ali- root, and is the closest sibling. Around them sit cetere (besides, by the way), precipe (especially - the opposite move, narrowing rather than widening), tamen (however) and plain ankaŭ (also). Learn them as a set: they are the joints an essay turns on, and Esperanto gives you all of them for the price of a handful of roots.
