Word origin
From Latin collega ('one chosen to serve alongside another'), from com ('together') plus legare ('to appoint'). A single root, and the classic Esperanto false parse: read as kol-eg-o it would mean a big neck, which is why every textbook uses it to teach that roots beat affixes.
