orange (fruit)
Word origin
An international borrowing of orange, which travelled with the fruit itself: from Sanskrit naranga through Persian narang and Arabic naranj into the Romance languages, losing its initial n along the way. The colour word came later, named after the fruit in Esperanto just as in English.

The fruit is ; the colour is the adjective oranĝkolora or simply oranĝa. Esperanto copied English's trick of naming the colour after the fruit, not the other way round.
