Both senses of the English word survive the crossing: the shape you draw and the set of people you belong to. The second is deep in Esperanto culture, since is the phrase from that every speaker knows, and a local Esperanto group is still often just loka . Ronda is round, rondiri is to go round, and is the preposition you actually want when something is around something else. Keep for the thing itself rather than the position.
