Scriptura, scripturae, f., first declension, built on the supine stem of scribo. Classically it is neutral and rather dull: a piece of writing, the act of writing, the style of a composition, and in tax law the rent paid for grazing on public land.
This corpus is ecclesiastical, so it almost always means Scripture, usually with sacra or divina attached, and the plural scripturae covers the books collectively. Worth remembering that the capital letter is the translator's decision: Latin marks no such thing, and a medieval writer moves between "a text" and "the Text" without warning. English scripture, script, scribe, postscript and manuscript all come from the same verb, and Italian scrittura still carries the plain sense of writing that the church sense buried in English.
