错过的火车

早zǎo上shàng，小xiǎo美měi给gěi阿ā龙lóng打dǎ了liǎo电diàn话huà。「今jīn天tiān我wǒ们men一yì起qǐ吃chī饭fàn吧ba。」阿ā龙lóng很hěn高gāo兴xìng，两liǎng人rén要yào下xià午wǔ在zài站zhàn里lǐ见jiàn面miàn。

In the morning, Xiao Mei rang A Long. "Let's have a meal together today." A Long was delighted and they agreed to meet at the station in the afternoon.

可kě是shì小xiǎo美měi今jīn天tiān的de事shì情qíng很hěn多duō。她tā先xiān去qù银yín行háng拿ná钱qián，然rán后hòu去qù买mǎi东dōng西xī。她tā想xiǎng，时shí间jiān还hái多duō，走zǒu快kuài一yì点diǎn就jiù好hǎo。

But Xiao Mei had a lot to do that day. First she went to the bank to get some money, then she went to buy a few things. She thought there was still plenty of time; she would just walk a bit faster.

银yín行háng里lǐ人rén很hěn多duō，她tā等děng了liǎo很hěn久jiǔ。买mǎi东dōng西xī的de时shí候hòu，她tā又yòu看kàn了liǎo一yì些xiē别bié的de东dōng西xī。结jié果guǒ，时shí间jiān过guò得dé很hěn快kuài。

There were many people at the bank, and she waited a long time. While buying her things, she stopped to look at a few other things too. As a result, the time slipped away quickly.

她tā走zǒu到dào站zhàn里lǐ的de时shí候hòu，火huǒ车chē已yǐ经jīng来lái了liǎo。她tā想xiǎng上shàng车chē，可kě是shì门mén关guān了liǎo。火huǒ车chē走zǒu了liǎo。小xiǎo美měi没méi想xiǎng到dào，她tā错cuò过guò了liǎo这zhè次cì火huǒ车chē。

By the time she reached the station, the train had already arrived. She wanted to get on, but the doors closed. The train pulled away. Xiao Mei had not expected to miss this train.

她tā拿ná出chū手shǒu机jī看kàn了liǎo一yí下xià。阿ā龙lóng的de消xiāo息xī说shuō：「我wǒ已yǐ经jīng上shàng车chē了liǎo，你nǐ呢ne？」小xiǎo美měi心xīn里lǐ很hěn不bù好hǎo。她tā没méi有yǒu上shàng车chē，他tā们men没méi有yǒu见jiàn到dào面miàn。

She took out her phone and looked. A Long's message said: "I'm already on the train, where are you?" Xiao Mei felt anxious. She had not got on, and so they had not met.

她tā给gěi阿ā龙lóng打dǎ电diàn话huà，说shuō了liǎo今jīn天tiān的de事shì情qíng。阿ā龙lóng在zài火huǒ车chē上shàng笑xiào了liǎo。他tā说shuō：「没méi关guān系xì，我wǒ在zài下xià一yī站zhàn等děng你nǐ。」

She phoned A Long and told him about her day. On the train, A Long laughed. He said: "Don't worry, I'll wait for you at the next station."

小xiǎo美měi坐zuò下xià一yī次cì火huǒ车chē，到dào了liǎo下xià一yī站zhàn。阿ā龙lóng正zhèng在zài那nà里lǐ。两liǎng个gè人rén终zhōng于yú见jiàn面miàn了liǎo。

Xiao Mei took the next train and arrived at the next station. A Long was right there. The two of them finally met.

「今jīn天tiān的de事shì情qíng太tài多duō了liǎo，真zhēn可kě惜xī，差chà点diǎn就jiù见jiàn不bù到dào你nǐ。」小xiǎo美měi说shuō。阿ā龙lóng说shuō：「错cuò过guò一yī次cì火huǒ车chē，也yě没méi关guān系xì。我wǒ们men还hái是shì见jiàn到dào了liǎo。」

"There was so much to do today; what a shame, I almost didn't get to see you," said Xiao Mei. A Long said: "Missing one train doesn't matter. We met all the same."

那nà天tiān晚wǎn上shàng，他tā们men一yì起qǐ吃chī饭fàn，说shuō了liǎo很hěn多duō话huà。小xiǎo美měi觉jué得de，每měi天tiān的de生shēng活huó里lǐ，这zhè样yàng的de一yī天tiān最zuì让ràng人rén高gāo兴xìng。

That evening they ate together and talked a lot. Xiao Mei felt that, of all the days in ordinary life, a day like this was the one that made her happiest.
