Story

母mǔ亲qīn今jīn天tiān很hěn高gāo兴xìng。她tā的de儿ér子zi要yào回huí家jiā了liǎo。火huǒ车chē下xià午wǔ两liǎng点diǎn到dào，她tā早zǎo上shàng十shí点diǎn就jiù到dào了liǎo车chē站zhàn。

The mother is very happy today. Her son is coming home. The train arrives at two o'clock in the afternoon, but she gets to the station at ten in the morning.

她tā在zài外wài面miàn等děng。一yī个gè小xiǎo时shí过guò去qù了liǎo，火huǒ车chē没méi有yǒu来lái。两liǎng点diǎn过guò了liǎo，火huǒ车chē还hái是shì没méi有yǒu来lái。她tā用yòng手shǒu机jī打dǎ电diàn话huà，可kě是shì儿ér子zi没méi有yǒu接jiē。

She waits outside. An hour goes by, and the train does not come. Two o'clock passes, and still the train has not come. She rings on her phone, but her son does not pick up.

母mǔ亲qīn心xīn里lǐ开kāi始shǐ担dān心xīn。火huǒ车chē为wèi什shén么me这zhè么me晚wǎn？儿ér子zi在zài哪nǎ里lǐ？外wài面miàn很hěn冷lěng，她tā一yī个gè人rén站zhàn着zhe，看kàn了liǎo看kàn天tiān。天tiān黑hēi了liǎo。

The mother begins to worry. Why is the train so late? Where is her son? It is cold outside; she stands there alone and looks at the sky. The sky grows dark.

She waits two hours, then another few dozen minutes. She walks this way and that, all the while watching the spot where the trains come in.

四sì点diǎn了liǎo，火huǒ车chē终zhōng于yú到dào了liǎo。母mǔ亲qīn看kàn到dào儿ér子zi从cóng火huǒ车chē上shàng下xià来lái。她tā太tài高gāo兴xìng了liǎo，哭kū了liǎo。

At four o'clock the train finally arrives. The mother sees her son step down from the train. She is so happy that she cries.

儿ér子zi跑pǎo过guò来lái，抱bào了liǎo抱bào她tā。「对duì不bù起qǐ，火huǒ车chē晚wǎn了liǎo这zhè么me久jiǔ，让ràng你nǐ等děng了liǎo这zhè么me长cháng时shí间jiān。」母mǔ亲qīn笑xiào着zhe说shuō：「没méi事shì，你nǐ回huí来lái了liǎo就jiù好hǎo。」

Her son runs over and gives her a hug. "I'm sorry the train was so late and made you wait such a long time." The mother smiles and says: "It's all right - you're back, and that's what matters."

On the way home, the son holds his mother's hand. The mother no longer feels cold. At home there is hot water, there is hot food to eat, and there is her son. On this day, her heart is full.
