风格 (fēng gé) is style in the sense of a characteristic manner: an author's prose, a building's architecture, a painter's hand, the way a person does things. It is about identity rather than appearance.
那不是他的风格 works exactly as the English "that is not his style" does, and it is one of the neater one to one matches in the language. 中国风格, 现代风格 and 传统风格 all behave the way you would expect.
The trap is using 风格 for fashion or for looks. Clothes that are in style are 时尚, and how something looks is 样子. A method of doing something is 方式. 风格 is the signature underneath all of that, so a jumper does not have 风格 unless you are discussing design.
