互相 (hùxiāng) is an adverb, not a pronoun, and that is the whole difficulty for an English speaker. English puts "each other" after the verb as an object; Mandarin puts 互相 before it and leaves the verb with no object at all.
So: 互相帮助 (hùxiāng bāngzhù), never 帮助互相. If you find yourself wanting to put it at the end of the sentence, you are translating word for word.
It pairs naturally with two-syllable verbs (帮助, 尊重, 了解, 支持). With a one-syllable verb it can sound clipped, and speakers often prefer 彼此 (bǐcǐ) or a rephrase.
