舞龙 (wǔlóng) is the "dragon dance": 舞 (wǔ) means "to dance" and 龙 (lóng) means "dragon". A team of performers each hold a pole supporting one segment of a long fabric dragon and run in coordinated waves to make it appear to fly, swim and coil.

Like 舞狮 (wǔshī), the lion dance, 舞龙 (wǔlóng) is performed at 春节 (Chūnjié) and other major celebrations, since the dragon in Chinese culture is a symbol of power, strength and good fortune rather than the fire-breathing menace of Western folklore.

A full 舞龙 (wǔlóng) team can involve a dozen or more dancers, plus drummers keeping the pace, so it takes considerably more coordination and rehearsal than the two-person 舞狮 (wǔshī).
