Word origin
From French douche, borrowed from Italian doccia, a water pipe, which goes back to Latin ductio and the verb ducere ('to lead'). The shower is named for the leading of water down a pipe, so it shares a root with duct and aqueduct, and with duko, the leader of men.

It never means a rain shower: that is o or simply . The room itself is a o, and if you want the head rather than the whole arrangement, o does it, which is the -- suffix doing the same job it does in fotilo.
