Three verbs crowd this space and they are not interchangeable. is to come across a thing that was already there. is to come to know a fact, usually because somebody told you. is the one with effort in it - you worked the answer out. Older texts, Zamenhof's included, also use it where modern writers would say , hence eltrovo for an invention and eltrovinto for the inventor. sits nearby with the sense of uncovering something hidden.
