glavo

A glavo is the straight blade; the curved cavalry weapon is a sabro and the light fencing one a spado. The holder suffix gives glavingo, a scabbard, on the same pattern as kandelingo. This is corpus-heavy rather than conversation-heavy vocabulary: it earns its place in the top thousand because so much early Esperanto prose is translated fairy tale and history, where swords are drawn on roughly every third page.
