libereco

The suffix -ec- turns an adjective into the abstract quality behind it, so libera gives libereco, and the same machine gives beleco, boneco and vereco. Keep it apart from liberigi, the act of setting somebody free, and from libereco's concrete neighbour rajto, which is a specific entitlement rather than a general condition. Esperanto has always been a language with political texts in it, and libereco turns up in most of them. Note that the root is liber-, so nothing here has anything to do with libro, a book, despite the resemblance in English.
