is rescue, and rescue only. It takes or for what you are saving somebody from, when they are physically inside the danger. English has stretched "save" over three unrelated jobs, and Esperanto refuses to follow: putting money aside is , keeping something for later is , and storing a file on a computer is too. Say and you have pulled it from a burning building. The root also gives savo for salvation, i to be saved, and savanto for a rescuer.
