covers both halves of the English idea: the impersonal force that arranges things, and the particular lot handed to one person. It skews literary, and you will meet it far more often in a novel or a poem than in a conversation about lunch. The adjective sorta is rare; does the heavy work when something is doom-laden. Do not confuse it with , which is a kind or sort of thing - the English "sort" splits across two Esperanto roots, and this one is the darker of them.
