answers "where" and supren answers "where to", so the accusative -n does the job English does with "up" against "upwards". Do not confuse it with super, which is a preposition and needs an object after it: super . The root also gives supra for upper, supro for the top of a thing, and for going up. mirrors the lot, which is why Esperanto never needed a separate word for downstairs.
