One word covers what English splits three ways. A is any tall
piece of furniture closed by doors, so it is a wardrobe when clothes go in
it, a cupboard when food does, and a cabinet when papers do. When you need
to be specific, compound: vestoŝranko, libroŝranko, glaciŝranko for
the fridge in older texts. A , by contrast, is a box or crate you
could pick up and carry.
