, . . C' Sophie appelle. . heureuse.

This evening, Marie is at home. She hears the phone. It is her friend Sophie calling. The two women have not spoken to each other in ages. Marie is very happy.

" ? Sophie, c' ?" . ", c' ," Sophie. " ! - ?"

"Hello? Sophie, is that you?" says Marie. "Yes, it's me," says Sophie. "It's been ages! How are you?"

" ," . " ? ?" Sophie . . . " ," -. " ."

"I'm well," says Marie. "And you? And your family?" Sophie talks about her children. She now has a little boy. He is one year old. "The baby doesn't sleep at night," she says. "I sleep very little."

. . " Paul ?" . " -- ?" " ," Sophie. " . ."

Marie understands well. She has a child too. "And your brother Paul?" asks Marie. "How is he?" "He's well," says Sophie. "He has a new girlfriend. They are very happy together."

. l'. " ?" Sophie. " !" . " . C' ."

The two friends talk for ages. They remember school. "Do you remember our trip?" asks Sophie. "Yes!" says Marie. "We were so young. It was ten years ago."

" ," . " ." Sophie '. " . ."

"We did a lot of things together," says Marie. "I often think about that time." Sophie agrees. "Me too. But we don't see each other enough any more."

", ?" . " !" Sophie. " ? ." "C' bonne ," .

"So, shall we see each other soon?" asks Marie. "Yes!" says Sophie. "Next week? We can have a coffee in town." "That's a very good idea," says Marie.

" ," Sophie. " ." "," . " . ."

"We can have dinner together too," says Sophie. "I know a good place near your home." "Perfect," says Marie. "I'll be there. I can't wait."

. Sophie : " . 'appelle. ."

The two friends talk a little more. Then Sophie says: "It's late. The little one is calling me. I have to go."

"'," . " ' . ' ." " ," Sophie. " !"

"All right," says Marie. "Thank you for calling. It made me so happy." "Me too," says Sophie. "See you next week!"

Marie puts down the phone. She is happy. She thinks about her friend, about their trip, about all those years together. This evening, a simple call changed her day.
