Story

Une nouvelle famille arrive dans la maison à côté. C'est un grand jour dans la rue. La famille est nouvelle ici. Personne ne la connaît. Devant la maison, il y a une voiture pleine de boîtes. Léa regarde par la porte. Elle voit un homme, une femme et un petit garçon.

A new family arrives in the house next door. It is a big day in the street. The family is new here. Nobody knows them. In front of the house, there is a car full of boxes. Léa looks through the door. She sees a man, a woman and a little boy.

Léa sort de la maison. Le petit garçon la regarde. Il ne dit rien. Il a un peu peur. "Bonjour," dit Léa, tout doucement. Le garçon dit "Bonjour" aussi, mais tout bas. Il s'appelle Tom.

Léa comes out of the house. The little boy looks at her. He says nothing. He is a little afraid. "Hello," says Léa, very gently. The boy says "Hello" too, but very quietly. His name is Tom.

La nouvelle famille a beaucoup de boîtes. Les boîtes sont grandes et il y en a plein. Le père de Léa vient aider. Léa aide aussi. Elle prend une petite boîte dans ses mains. Elle la porte dans la maison. Tom porte une autre boîte avec elle. Ensemble, c'est plus facile.

The new family has a lot of boxes. The boxes are big and there are loads of them. Léa's father comes to help. Léa helps too. She takes a little box in her hands. She carries it into the house. Tom carries another box with her. Together, it is easier.

Après, les enfants ne travaillent plus. Ils jouent dans la rue. Tom montre un jeu à Léa. Léa aime beaucoup ce jeu. Ils jouent longtemps, dehors, devant la maison. Léa et Tom parlent beaucoup. Ils sont contents. En une heure, ils sont amis. Maintenant, Tom n'a plus peur.

Afterwards, the children are not working any more. They play in the street. Tom shows Léa a game. Léa really likes this game. They play for ages, outside, in front of the house. Léa and Tom talk a lot. They are happy. In one hour, they are friends. Now Tom is not afraid any more.

Le soir, la nouvelle famille vient chez Léa. La mère de Tom donne quelque chose de bon à manger. "Merci pour votre aide," dit-elle. Tout le monde mange ensemble. C'est un bon moment. Après, les deux familles parlent longtemps.

In the evening, the new family comes over to Léa's. Tom's mother gives them something good to eat. "Thank you for your help," she says. Everyone eats together. It is a good moment. Afterwards, the two families talk for ages.

Maintenant, il y a une nouvelle famille dans la rue. Léa a un nouvel ami dans la maison à côté. Les deux familles sont contentes. Ce n'est plus la maison des gens qu'on ne connaît pas. C'est la maison de Tom.

Now there is a new family in the street. Léa has a new friend in the house next door. The two families are happy. It is no longer the house of people no one knows. It is Tom's house.
