/fu.ty/
Translation
(vulgar) bloody, damned; done for, knackered, ruined
Word origin
Past participle of the vulgar verb foutre, from Latin futuere, a coarse verb for sexual intercourse. The sexual sense faded in the participle, leaving an all-purpose intensifier and a way of saying that something is beyond saving. It stays crude in French, so treat it the way you would treat 'bloody' or stronger in English.
