Divinus, divina, divinum, from divus, "a god", the older word beside deus. Two branches of meaning grow from it, and they are further apart than the single English word suggests. One is "belonging to a god": res divinae are religious matters, and rem divinam facere is to perform a sacrifice. The other is "knowing what a god knows", hence prophetic - the verb divino is to foretell, and a divinus as a noun is a seer or soothsayer.
Christian Latin keeps the first branch and settles it onto scripture and worship: divinae litterae for the Bible, divina officia for the Divine Office, divina pagina for the sacred page. English took one branch each way, divine and divination, and only the second remembers the fortune-telling.
