Habito, habitare, habitavi, habitatum. First conjugation, entirely regular, and a frequentative of habeo: to keep on having a place, and therefore to dwell in it.
Two constructions. Normally it is intransitive with in and the ablative, in urbe habito, which is what you will meet most. It can also take a bare accusative of the place inhabited, terram habitare, and that transitive use is what licenses the passive habitatur, "is inhabited", along with the noun habitatio. Do not connect it to English "habit" in the sense of a custom: that comes from habitus, the fourth-declension noun. Habito gives inhabit, habitat, habitation, French habiter and Spanish habitar.
