moveo

Moveo, movere, movi, motum is second conjugation, and the perfect movi with supine motum feeds a very large family: motus, momentum, and in English motion, motive, emotion, mobile, remove, promote and commotion.

Beyond physical movement it does the emotional work as well, so misericordia motus is "moved by pity", exactly as English does it. Watch the passive: moveri very often means to move oneself rather than to be shifted by someone else. Castra movere, "to strike camp", is the standard military idiom and Caesar drops castra often enough that movit alone can carry the whole sense of marching on.
