Read one story in two places
DW's Chinese service and BBC News 中文 often cover the same story. Read both and notice what each one leads with.
Open DW 中文 and find a story that BBC News 中文 is also covering. Read the opening of each, then write three sentences in Mandarin: what happened, how the two reports differ, and which you found easier to read. Use the Pinyin keyboard built into your computer or phone (Windows, macOS, iOS and Android all ship one), or write in pinyin.
Headlines are written to be quick, and the same few hundred words come round every day. Skip what you do not know and hold on to what you do.
An example you can adapt
BBC和DW都报道了这件事,但是重点不一样。一个更关心经济,另一个更关心普通人的生活。我觉得两个都要看。
BBC hé DW dōu bàodào le zhè jiàn shì, dànshì zhòngdiǎn bù yíyàng. Yí gè gèng guānxīn jīngjì, lìng yí gè gèng guānxīn pǔtōng rén de shēnghuó. Wǒ juéde liǎng gè dōu yào kàn.
The BBC and DW both reported this, but with a different focus. One cares more about the economy, the other more about ordinary people's lives. I think you need to read both.
