Keep a journal that natives correct

Journaly is a free site where you post journal entries in Mandarin, native speakers correct them, and you correct their English.

Sign up on Journaly, set Mandarin as your learning language, and post a journal entry of about 150 characters: where you are with Chinese, what has got easier, what still trips you up. Type it with the Pinyin keyboard built into your computer or phone (Windows, macOS, iOS and Android all ship one), or write in pinyin and say so. Then pay it back: find an English entry by a Chinese speaker and correct it.

Your partner is a learner too, so mistakes are expected on both sides. Ten minutes of real conversation teaches more than an hour of worrying about it.

An example you can adapt

This is my second year of learning Chinese. I find I can read more and more, but I still often get nervous when I speak. If you want to practise English, I am very happy to correct yours too.
