搭档 (dā dàng) is the person you work alongside: a comedy double act, a doubles pair, two police officers on the same shift. It doubles as a verb, so 我们搭档了三年 means we have partnered for three years.
The pairing is the point. It implies rough equality and a shared task, and the usual measure word is 对 for the pair or 个 for one of them.
The trap is the width of English partner. A romantic partner is 伴侣 or 对象, a legal business partner is 合伙人, and a dance partner is 舞伴. Introduce your spouse as your 搭档 and you have described a working arrangement.
