各 (gè) means each taken separately, with the emphasis on the differences between them. It attaches straight to a noun with no measure word, which is what makes 各国, 各地, 各位, 各方面 sound so compact.
The doubled pattern 各有各的 is worth memorising whole. 各有各的好处 means each has its own merits, and the shape repeats with any noun: 各做各的, 各走各的路. English needs a clause for this; Chinese needs six syllables.
The trap is 每. 每 also means every, but it groups: 每个人都来了 says all of them came, treating them as one set. 各 splits: 各人的看法不同 says their views differ one from another. And unlike 每, 各 usually refuses a measure word, so 各个 exists but 各个个 does not, and 各人 never becomes 各个人 in careful writing.
