降落(jiàng luò) - to land, to touch down, to descend in Mandarin

降落 (jiàng luò) is what an aircraft does at the end of a flight: it comes down and touches the ground. It also covers a parachute, a helicopter and, in technical writing, a spacecraft. Its opposite is 起飞, to take off, and the two turn up together on every departures board.

Related words share the first character: 降落伞 is a parachute, literally a landing umbrella, and 降落场 is a landing ground. Once you know 降落, those come free.

The trap is 降 itself, which has two readings. Here it is jiàng, to descend, as in 降价 for a price cut. In 投降, to surrender, the same character is read xiáng. Same shape, different word. Also note that 降落 describes the aircraft, not the passenger: when you get off the plane you 下飞机, and if you are talking about arriving somewhere you want 到达.
