确实 (què shí) means indeed, truly, or certainly. It is used to confirm or affirm something that has been said or suggested (这确实是个问题, this is indeed a problem). As an adjective it means real or actual (确实的证据, real evidence). It is more emphatic than 真的 (zhēn de, really) and carries a sense of verified truth. Common in formal speech and writing to acknowledge facts or concede points.
