四处 (sì chù) means all around, in every direction. It leans towards movement and searching: 四处走 is to wander about, 四处找 is to hunt high and low, 四处传开 is news spreading outwards from a point.
It sits before the verb, like most Mandarin adverbs of place, and often pairs with 都 when it describes a state rather than an action: 四处都是人 means the place is packed.
The trap is confusing it with 到处 (dào chù), which is the nearer synonym. 到处 is neutral everywhere and works for anything; 四处 has the flavour of scanning outwards from where you stand. If you are unsure, 到处 is the safer default.
