葬礼 (zàng lǐ) is the funeral itself: the ceremony, not the death and not the burial plot. It takes 参加 (cān jiā, to attend) or 举行 (jǔ xíng, to hold), the same verbs you would use for a wedding or a conference.
The 礼 half is the giveaway. It is the same 礼 as in 婚礼 (hūn lǐ, wedding) and 典礼 (diǎn lǐ, ceremony), so once you have one of these words you have the pattern for the rest.
The trap for an English speaker is reaching for 葬礼 when you mean the death or the loss. 他的葬礼 is his funeral service; 他的死 is his death. Saying 我很难过他的葬礼 sounds like you are upset about the arrangements rather than about him dying.
