también or tampoco?

One agrees with a yes. The other agrees with a no.

The rule

también agrees with a POSITIVE: yo también. tampoco agrees with a NEGATIVE: yo tampoco. English uses too and either, and learners reach for también in both, which produces a sentence that agrees with the opposite of what was said.
