Correlative comparison: cuanto mas... mas, cada vez mas
The advanced comparison patterns beyond mas que: cuanto mas trabajo, mas cansado estoy (the more... the more), cada vez mas (more and more), el doble, tanto... que, and the -isimo absolute superlative.
The short version
Cuanto más locks two changes together

Use cada vez más when only one quantity is drifting, with nothing on the other side of the scale: cada vez hace más frío. Cada vez más leo for the more I read is a straight mistranslation.
Cuanto más trabajo, más cansado estoy.
