muy or mucho?

One intensifies a quality. The other counts a quantity.

The rule

muy goes in front of an adjective or an adverb and never changes: muy bueno, muy bien. mucho means a LOT, goes with a noun or a verb, and agrees when it meets a noun: mucho tiempo, muchas cosas. You can never say muy mucho.
