Physically, is transitive: you lean one thing against another. To lean yourself, you need sin or i, and dropping the reflexive is the usual mistake. Figuratively it is the ordinary parliamentary word for backing a motion, a candidate or an idea, and there the object is simply the thing you support. o is a rest or a support, apogo the backing itself. It shades into , which carries weight from underneath; is the sideways kind of support.
