is the most famous word in Esperanto that nobody uses. Zamenhof put it in the dictionary as a familiar singular, then advised learners to leave it alone, and the language duly settled on for one person and for a crowd, formal and intimate alike. What survives is a handful of translations where the original leaned on a tu/vous split and the translator felt the loss, plus the odd poem. Learn to recognise it and its possessive , and then say like everybody else. Using at a congress will sound less intimate than eccentric.
