daŭrigi

The whole word is daŭri plus -ig-, and the suffix is doing exactly what it always does: making the action transitive. La kunveno daŭris du horojn means the meeting itself lasted; li daŭrigis la kunvenon means he kept it going. English "continue" covers both jobs with one verb, so learners write mi daŭris la laboron, which says the strange thing that you personally lasted the work. If the thing carries on by itself, use daŭri. If you are the one keeping it alive, use daŭrigi. The noun daŭrigo is a continuation, and daŭre means continuously.
