deziri

Deziri is a shade more formal and less blunt than voli. Its important trick is what happens after ke: a wish is not a fact, so the verb in the clause takes the volitive -u, ni deziras, ke vi revenu, never revenas. That same -u follows voli ke, peti ke and ordoni ke. Mi deziras al vi bonan tagon is the full form the greeting bonan tagon was clipped from.
