.
In summer we pick strawberries in the field.
A is the berry. The plant is o or, more often in modern writing, fragplanto, and the -- here is the fruit-tree suffix doing its second job, the same one that turns pomo into o. The adjective fraga covers everything strawberry-flavoured: fraga , fraga .
Two spelling neighbours are worth keeping apart, because Esperanto's one-sound-one-letter rule makes them look closer than they sound. is the fruit; frakcio is a fraction; is a sentence. Nothing connects them, and the only reason to mention it is that learners scanning a word list at speed do conflate short f-r words.
Botanically the strawberry is not a berry at all, which no language has ever cared about, Esperanto included.
