is transitive and takes the effect as its object: the thing caused goes in the accusative, and the person it lands on takes . So , not the other way round. The noun kaŭzo is the cause itself, and pro is its everyday preposition: pro says because of the rain without any verb at all. Do not confuse it with , which makes someone do something rather than bringing a situation about.
