It turned out that she was entirely right.
shows something to someone; -- turns the showing round so the thing shows itself. Two uses follow. Literally it means to appear or come into view, and figuratively it is the tidy way to say "turned out to be". The grammar point: whatever follows stays nominative, because it describes the subject rather than taking the action. Write , never . The impersonal , ... needs no subject at all and is worth having ready; is its softer cousin, claiming appearance rather than proof.
