The trio completes here. Redaktoro arrived at rank 2,190, redakti at 2,306, and the place they work at 2,631 - the person first, then the verb, then the office, which is exactly the wrong order pedagogically and exactly what a frequency list gives you. It is a place and it is a group of people, and Esperanto does not choose.La redakcio is the room, and la redakcio is also the editors in it, in the same way English uses the newsroom. The standard disclaimer at the front of an Esperanto periodical runs la redakcio ne respondecas pri la opinioj de la aŭtoroj - the editors, not the furniture, take no responsibility for the authors' opinions.

The seam that is not quite there. Redakcio looks as though it should be redakt- plus something, and it is not: it came into Esperanto whole, from the Slavic and German words for a newsroom, which is why the t of redakti vanishes in the middle of it. If you want the transparent build, Esperanto has one - redaktejo, the editing place, made with the -ej- of muelejo. Both are correct. Redakcio is what a masthead prints, for the same reason redaktoro beats redaktisto: a century of periodicals settled it.

Round it out. Ĉefredaktoro is the editor in chief, redaktado the work itself, eldoni is to publish and eldonejo the publishing house. Between them these words describe most of how Esperanto literature has actually reached its readers since the 1890s, which is a story told properly in Esperanta literaturo.
