is intransitive and specifically means going by vehicle, with the vehicle named in per. To convey somebody else you need the causative i, which is what a driver does to passengers. The tool suffix gives , vehicle. Contrast , which is neutral about how you get there, for on foot and for on horseback, and for the whole journey as an undertaking rather than the moving itself.
