is a life, the thing you have one of. is living, the continuous process of doing it, because -ad- makes an action ongoing. So is my life from birth to death, and Madrido is what daily existence there is like. English blurs the two and Esperanto does not, which is one of the places where the language repays a bit of attention. Vivmaniero is a common one-word alternative for way of life, and vivkosto is the cost of living.
