vivre or habiter?
One is where your things are. The other is whether you are alive.
The rule
habiter is to live somewhere, and it is about the ADDRESS. vivre is to live in the wider sense: to be alive, to experience, to live a certain way. You can habiter in Paris and vivre badly, and only one of the two verbs can say either.
